From the Humber Estuary we headed down to the Thames Estuary. A train from St Pancras took us out to Gravesend and we pedalled back into the capital watching the city build before us. We headed along the south bank and in glorious sunshine crossed the river on the Air Line before reaching Londons only Lighthouse, Trinity Buoy. The lighthouse was never used to aid navigation but was the workplace of scientist Michael Faraday who conducted optical experiments there.
