Our Plan
The plan is to cycle around the entire coast of mainland Britain by bike whilst visiting and blogging all 185 lighthouses as we go. Its called Project Lighthouse and its likely to take some time.

Angela, our inspiration sadly passed away on the 30th December 2016. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer nearly 5 years earlier. Throughout those years she cycled 250 miles from Bath to Liverpool with her friends raising over £30,000 for Target Ovarian Cancer. She rode around the North West Coast of Ireland with her family, raising over £10,000 for her fund, now charity ‘A Bit of a Break‘.
We are breaking the journey up into sections allows us to invite anyone and everyone to join in with the fun. The more people who join us, the better.
There aren’t many rules apart from we have to do ALL the coastline as well as all the lighthouses.
“Why on earth?” We hear you say. Well we are looking for sponsorship. We are asking people to commit to say 50p per lighthouse visited. Every 25 lighthouses we will ask for the sponsors to make their donation on the Just Giving site.
Also anyone cycling with us could pay £5 for the ride. We sort out the route, transport and the very important coffee stops.
We have also have had riders who collect sponsorship directly for their involvement. This works really well, let me know if you would like to do this.
Hopefully you think this is a good idea and that you get involved. We would love that. The money goes to A Bit of a Break, the fund started by Angela Sturgeon to give people living with a palliative illness a holiday.
