My advice to you is to never trust a path on a Scottish map. The Ardnamurchan Peninsula ride was probably the toughest so far. It included a bike carry up and over a heather clad col, a failed attempt at a river crossing and retracing our tyre tracks into a hellish headwind. Ardnamurchan Point is the most westerly point on the British mainland and the scenery looking out to Eigg, Muck and Rhum is as good as it gets. It was the thought of beef bourguignon in slow cooker back in the bothy that got us round.
