Sunderland Point, which isn’t anywhere near Sunderland is an incredible remote spot south of Lancaster on the far side of the Lune estuary. Its one of those places that seems lost in time. The road winds its way through creeks so close to the sea the access is often blocked by the tides. The ride also took us past Heysham Nuclear Power Station which was made even more surreal by the juxtaposition of a thriving holiday camp at its base. Our coastline is so fascinating.
