We set off from Preston station making our way down to the Ribble Estuary and the docks. A fine start followed by the usual section of busy road. Things got better as we pedalled in to Lytham St Annes, making our way through the sand dunes. Brews and buttys were taken at the pavilion in Fairhaven Lake. Proper old school seaside town stuff.
Much swerving of buggies, day-trippers, mobility scooters, hen and stag doo’s occurred along Blackpool promenade, before things quietened down along the sea wall past Cleavleys. Stunning views across Morecambe Bay whilst being serenaded by a cross dressing nun on a motorised piano.
Lunch in Fleetwood whist waiting for the ferry to take us across the Wyre Estuary. A bit of off-piste riding picked up Plover Scar Lighthouse before dropping into Glasson Dock.
A lovely disused railway swiftly carried us into Lancaster to catch the train back to the cars.
